The Forth Bridges Unit will comprise of the following trunk roads: the M90/A90 Kirkliston (M9 J1a) – Halbeath), A823(M) Pitreavie Spur and the A90 Dalmeny – Rosyth (including the Forth Road Bridge). In late 2016, the Forth Replacement Crossing and all associated approach roads will become part of the Unit. Landscaping requirements will include maintenance of St Margaret’s Marsh, a SSSI area that is non-contiguous with the trunk road network.
The total initial route length is approximately 24 km. Geographic areas, routes, route lengths and carriageway lane lengths within the Unit may be subject to further change during the currency of the award procedures and the contract.

The issue of this non-mandatory Prior Information Notice is to provide suppliers with a further opportunity to inform themselves about participation in the procurement. Transport Scotland is the project delivery agency of the Scottish Ministers. Responses to all inquiries to this Prior Information Notice will follow Transport Scotland’s process to date for delivering information to interested parties. Transport Scotland will not have any responsibility for the costs of inquiring parties or the timing of delivery of information requested.
Economic Operators should be aware that all information submitted to Scottish Ministers may need to be disclosed or published by the Scottish Ministers in compliance with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
