Security Guarding Services at Operational Work Sites 2012 to 2015.
As advertised on our Website, Forestry Commission Wales (FCW) is inviting tenders for providing; Security Guarding at operational work sites in Forestry Commission Wales managed woodlands across the South Wales Valleys.
The services required include:
– Cost effective security guarding to deter theft & damage occurring to Contractors plant, equipment and fuel that remain on site outside of normal working hours and weekends at numerous sites across South Wales.
– Regular and detailed reporting of all site incidents and observations.
– Monthly meeting between Security provider and FCW managers to plan and forecast costs of forthcoming months work, quarterly meeting to look at long term planning.
– From FCW work programmes provide advice on most cost effective ways to guard the operation sites.
FCW will only engage security providers with relevant Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licenses, under the scope of supply of this contract all security personnel engaged in this contract must carry “SIA Security Guard” Licenses.
Over the coming 3 years it is anticipated that there will be over 120 separate works sites across South Wales.
Work sites are very remote / isolated and the duration of any site will vary from short term (several days) to long term (several months).

SECTION IV: Administrative Information
We will be awarding a framework agreement for the supply of Security Guarding Services at forestry operational work sites in the South Wales area (there will be scope in the contract for security guarding to be used in any other areas of Wales if required)
Our intention is to award this framework agreement for a period of 2 years with the option of a further 1 year extension (2+1).
The estimated total value of the contract will be between £1.5 and £3 million.
Bidders are invited to attend a Bidder Briefing Day to help them understand more about the requirements of this contract. Attendance at the bidder briefing day is compulsory.
Failure to attend this briefing day may invalidate your Pre Qualification Questionnaire submission.
The Briefing day will take place on the 26th April 2012.

The closing date and time for making enquiries and requesting the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is 1200 noon on 4th May 2012.
The closing date and time for returning the completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is 1300 hours on 11th May 2012.
