Cambridge City Council wishes to appoint a contractor for the provision of security services for the Cambridge Folk Festival, which will be open to the public between 31.7.2014 – 3.8.2014.
The Festival has up to 10,000 people on site at any time. In total approx 14, 000 different customers attend with the majority camping for the full 4 days.
There are 2 main sites:
Cherry Hinton Hall is the main site. It comprises 4 stages, bars and catering facilities concessionaires, a crèche, youth area, and internet café. Approximately 4 000 people also camp at Cherry Hinton Hall.
Coldhams Common is the second site approximately 2 miles from the main site where a further 5,000 people camp. This is very much a family site with family entertainment, a main catering marquee and concessionaires.
Parking is provided at St Bedes School for Festival attendees and Netherhall School for staff and artists.
Security of the festival patrons, artists and car parks, and on-site contractors and equipment is very high on our list of priorities.
The requirement is for a mix of static and roving security guards provided prior to, during and after the Festival.
Security provision has been divided into 3 distinct areas:
General site (including bar areas, Box Office and Internet Café)
Stage Security
Coldhams Common and two car parks
