Description of the goods or services required

The Highland Council are inviting applications from suitably competent, qualified and experienced contractors who may wish to be considered for inclusion on the Councils Select List of Tenderers for the conversion of a Domestic Science teaching kitchen into a Commercial Training Kitchen

The works require the strip out of the existing kitchen fixed furnishings and kitchen equipment, electrics and other services. Strip back to bare walls and remove existing floor coverings. Increase fire protection level of walls and escape routes. Fix plastic hygienic wall coverings, renew vinyl floor cover, supply & fix suspended ceiling, Supply and install extract/ventilation system, fans and heat bank. Rewire the work area and fix new lighting and electrical fittings, install new data points and cabling. Supply and install new commercial kitchen equipment. Re-plumb services etc.

Estimated total value of the project will be approx 175,000 GBP and will be ultimately awarded on a cost basis to the lowest priced tender.

3 Conditions for Participation

3.1

Minimum standards and qualification required

The Highland Council are developing the use of Constructionline Registration as part of their pre qualification requirements for contractors applying for capital property related construction tenders. The initiative intends to avoid repetitive requests for general information at pre qualification stage. However, the Council cannot insist on Constructionline Registration and must allow non registered contractors to be assessed to an equal standard.

Additional Information

Contractors will be required to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) for this contract. The purpose of the PQQ is to identify a number of suitably qualified and experienced companies who will be invited to submit a tender. The Highland Council will use the information provided in response to the PQQ to determine which organisations are most suited, in the opinion of the Evaluation Panel, in terms of technical knowledge and experience, and organisational and financial standing to submit a tender.
