Description
The Council wishes to declare its intention to award the following Service Contract:
The Service is a Mental Health User Led Self Help support service for people who have substantial and/or enduring mental health needs. This is a local Service set up by local Service Users. An important aspect of this Service is that approximately 70% of the Trustees and approximately 80% of the staff are people who are Service Users or who have been Service Users. This has resulted in many people continuing to engage with this Service even when they have disengaged with other services including primary and secondary mental health services. Many of the people using this Service have chaotic/ disordered lifestyles and periods of relapse but have still felt able to continue engaging in this Service.
The Service provides opportunities for supported employment within the Service, an evening social club, a 365 day a year telephone Helpline and a Counselling service. Other aspects of the service are funded through other funding opportunities.
The funding is provided by Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridgeshire NHS and Peterborough NHS.
