Halton Borough Council is a Unitary Authority responsible for all Local Government services provided within the Borough of Halton (Runcorn and Widnes). The Council employs over 5,000 people across over 200 sites.
Our IT Environment
Halton Borough Council’s ICT department is entirely internal. ICT is responsible for managing:
· The communications infrastructure
· Over 2000 ICT users over 115 remote locations
· Over 200 servers – virtual and physical holding more than 170 centralised software applications
Most documents are currently held on file shares which use approximately 4TB of data – this includes a range of filetypes.
SharePoint at Halton
To date, we have SharePoint 2010 installed on a single physical server and are using it in a trial with approximately 100 people as an alternative to file shares. We would like to roll out SharePoint to 2,000 users to:
· Completely replace file shares
· Introduce collaborative working practices
· Replace our current intranet CMS
We would like to purchase licences for our SharePoint Farm. Please note that this is all that we require. Any quotes for anything other than those items listed below will be disregarded.
SQL licences x 4 – Standard Edition
SQL Standard for extranet x 2 – Standard Edition
External licence (SharePoint) x 1 Standard Edition
SharePoint licences x 3 – Server licences
Windows 2008 R2 licences x 8 – 2 x Enterprise Edition; 6 x Standard Edition
Halton Borough Council may abort the Request for Quotation (RFQ) at any time, is not bound to accept any quotation and will not be liable under any circumstances whatsoever for the costs suppliers incur in preparing the quotation.
All questions relating to this quotation must be submitted via The Chest’s Question & Answer facility. Please refer to previously asked questions before asking a question as duplicate questions will not be answered.
Decisions are usually made 2 weeks following the closing date of the RFQ.
