The Joint Commissioning Unit would like to offer you the opportunity to develop a new venture which will include personal shopping, a befriending scheme, centre for information, voluntary community car scheme and the hire of mobility scooters. These services are highly important in supporting disabled people to live independently at home, and to facilitate access and involvement in the community. Tenderers are asked to demonstrate that they can diversify and be innovative when delivering Shop-ability services. The supply of services is specified within the attached Service Specification: Invitation to Tender – Application for the Provision of Shop–ability Service. The budget is £75,000 pro-rata (Year one – 9 months only from July 2012 to March 2013 is £56,250) plus additional start up fund of £10,000 one off payment. Year 2 and year 3 is £75,000 per annum. The annual funding of £75,000.00 may vary subject to the Council’s challenge to efficiency savings.
