Short Term Supported Accommodation Service for Homeless Families – Widnes
Provision of Short Term Supported Accommodation Service for Homeless Families at Grangeway Court.
Halton Borough Council is pleased to offer an opportunity for the Provision of Short Term Supported Accommodation Service for Homeless Families at Grangeway Court. The purpose of this Service is to provide ‘interim’ and ‘temporary’ accommodation (as defined in Part VII of the Housing Act 1996) for homeless families whom the Authority believes may be homeless and have a priority need, and to support them to stabilise their lives and to develop their capacity, self-esteem, and life skills to enable them to live independently in settled accommodation in the community. This Service Specification sets out the type of support that the Authority expects the Service Provider to deliver to achieve these outcomes, but the ethos of the Service should be to focus on what matters most to each individual, empowering them to build better lives on their own terms, and where necessary helping them to achieve the personal change necessary to break the cycle that has led to them becoming homeless. The Service Provider will, in conjunction with the Authority’s Housing Solutions Service, provide advice, guidance and support to maximise opportunities for families to access permanent accommodation. The Service Provider will also provide Service Users with resettlement support for up to 4 weeks once they have secured permanent housing.
