II.2.4)Description of the procurement:
Southend’s council currently have a number of mobile connections with various tier 1 providers, it has been agreed that a consolidation and single supplier approach should be adopted. The primary focus is to reduce cost per head and increase customer satisfaction across a number of areas: mobile signal, Data speeds Data amount, Moves, Addition and changes.
The Council is looking to buy a minimum of 150 000 minutes, minimum of 40 000 text and minimum of 300 GB.
The council currently buy handsets via the minutes supplier because of a GBP 50 hardware incentive for every new connection. The council currently procure the Samsung A3 and replace around 200 devices a year through natural device churn there are no plans to replace all devices currently. Should a supplier not provide costs of handsets within their proposal a charge of GBP 244 per device bought will be added to the commercial considerations based upon 200 per annum.
