Description of the goods or services required

North Highland College seeks a partner to provide support for our ESF funded Personal Empowerment programme in the Invergordon/Alness area. The level of support required is 3 days per week for a five week period commencing Monday 20th January until Friday 21st February, then reducing to one day per week until Friday 6th June.

The target group for this programme are disengaged learners, school refusers, longer tem unemployed, referred unsuccessful applicants from other college courses.

The provider must have experience of:

– working with candidates with multiple deprivations

– skills to engage with candidates who have been out of education/work or training for a lengthy period

– Proven experience in dealing innovatively and effectively with long term behavioural problems

– Experience of working with ex-offenders

The provider must be able to support the college in identifying, interviewing and inducting candidates, identifying potential barriers to attendance, advise on appropriate support required by individuals during course, prepare candidates for attending college 3 days per week , monitor performance during settling in period, carry out team building exercise, identify potential ongoing problems and suggest solutions.

The provider will be expected to attend monthly review meetings to ensure course and student objectives are being met.

Providers are expected to provide details of relevant experience as well as a timeline outlining how they will provide an innovative programme of support required for the client group for the duration of the contract. The overall aim is that clients may be able to move into mainstream education or employment following completion of the programme.

Experience of working with ex- offenders

Be able to provide assurance of PVG

Hold or be working towards a youth work or equivalent qualification

Tenderers are expected to provide an innovative submission including a timeline of how you will provide support to the College over the period.
