Description of the contract

Southampton City Council invites applications from suitably experienced timber conservation repair specialists to carry out structural and non structural timber repairs to a Grade II listed bell tower in accordance with its listed status. A minimum of three and a maximum of eight tenderers will be invited to tender for the works. The proposed contractor will be required to have a flexible and constructive approach to undertaking the repairs due to the nature and condition of the timber. This includes an option to remove the tower and work on the structure at ground level. The proposed contractor will be required to be instrumental in assisting in this process and adaptive to the method of repairs to be undertaken.
