- The Music Education Hub wish to commission a series of singing projects during Spring Term (January – March) 2014. The projects will meet the aims of the Music Hub and Sheffield City Council (above) and will also be informed by the National Plan for Music Education (The Importance of Music) published in November. The Spring of Singing will encompass three areas identified through a needs analysis of singing provision in the city as follows:
Lot 1 The coordination and leadership of massed primary choir made up of children from year 4 and 5 classes. To involve at least 5 Sheffield schools. Total number 150 – 200 children. This includes a performance at the Music Hub Celebration Concert Saturday 22 March 2014 at Sheffield City Hall.
Lot 2 Inclusive and innovative projects involving children aged 5 – 7 years old involving at least four schools in Sheffield per project.
Lot 3 Projects aiming to achieve excellence in group singing involving young people aged 11 – 14 years old. An element of student leadership possibly from young singing leaders aged 14 – 18 years old would be welcome.
