Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking expressions of interest to provide staff and visitor catering and retail services across all its sites. This project is intended to provide an evidence-based proposal to change the types of food, drink and other forms of retail available to Barts Health personnel and the public and the ways in which this is presented. A key aspect will be to encourage and enable people to eat and drink more healthily whilst at work or visiting our hospitals with an appropriate range and choice being made available. Of equal importance is the requirement to provide a fairly priced sustainability-focused non-food offer which meets the aspirations of patients, staff, visitors and relatives.
There will be a Bidders briefing session on Wednesday, 24.2.2016 to set the scene for the project and allow Bidders to better understand the opportunities extending from the project. Further information on how to RSVP is contained within the Request for Information.

There are 18 existing locations that comprise the existing Staff Catering and Retail areas but there are further opportunities for the bidder to suggest other spaces within the sites or within the Authority’s grounds. Further details of existing sites can be found in the retail prospectus, prepared for each site, which is available with the Request for Information.
The overall value of the opportunity will be dependent on many factors, including but not limited to the commercial model on which the successful bidder is awarded the contract and the profit that the successful bidder generates in the course of operating the concession and the sharing of revenue agreed with the Trust.
The figure range below represents the projected value to the successful bidder in terms of potential turnover that could be generated from operating concessions within the retail and catering units at Trust premises. These are general projections and bidders should seek independent legal and commercial advice in relation to the potential value of the opportunity of the scheme as a whole.

Range: between 80 000 000 and 210 000 000 GBP
