County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust invites tenders for the provision of an Employee Assistance Programme Service (EAP) to approximately 8000 employees delivering health care and health care support services. The Trust has an approximate budget of 33 000.00 GBP per year.
Provision of a locally based, confidential and professional, face to face counselling service which includes access to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

An additional requirement to fast track appointments for employees referred by CDDFT occupational health/ management.
Consideration will be given to organisations with experience in counselling and supporting health care employees undertaking their roles within a hospital and community setting. The aim for the provision of the service is to help employees cope with challenges or to make positive changes in their life where necessary and to maintain their personal health and wellbeing whilst at work.
Organisations must be able to prove that the counsellors hold a nationally recognised qualification in counselling i.e. a minimum of Level 5 diploma in Therapeutic Counselling or above and are registered or working towards registration with a recognised professional body such as BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy), BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies), BPS (British Psychological Society), UKCP (United Kingdom for Counselling Psychotherapy) or the CPC (Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists in Primary Care).
They should adhere to clinical protocols in providing Employee Assistance Programme Services including the professional code of ethics set by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (Employee Assistance Programme).
The contract will run for a period of 36 months with an option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months.
