Nottingham City Cuncil is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to run and mange our Commercial Vehicle Workshop. The Commercial Vehicle Workshop is a key element of the City Council’s drive towards commercialisation as it is being developed into a strong market player in terms of heavy and light vehicle maintenance and MOT testing. There is a growth strategy built around winning high volume fleet maintenance contracts. Already the Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue tender has been won competitively and further business opportunities abound such in the public and private sector. The City Council provides component parts through its stores service at Eastcroft Depot for the maintenance of all 430 vehicles in the internal fleet as well as 150 vehicles serviced for Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service. The Stores service provides materials for planned and reactive maintenance for the full range of vehicles in the internal and external fleet. Parts are currently provided through an antiquated manual ledger process without being linked up to accounts package One World or the fleet management package Tranman. As a result it is not currently possible to obtain management information to inform Key Performance Indicators on an important aspect of the efficiency of the Vehicle Workshop. This is an expected service for our major client NFRS and would assist us greatly in winning additional commercial work as part of the overall commercialisation strategy.
