- Street Lighting Connection Work
The Council want to appoint an experienced and competent Independent Connection Provider (ICP) to manage all our Street Lighting connection work. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experience of high quality similar work.
We spend approximately £200k annually on this type of work and the subsequent contract is envisaged to be for a 5 year period with extensions options of up to a further 2 years
As well as carrying out the obvious excavations and reinstatements the successful ICP must also be able to manage all the Purchase Order (PO) and invoice links with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) who, in our area, is Scottish Power Manweb (SPM).
This means that the Council places a PO on the contractor who will obtain all of the necessary permissions, carry out the work, pay the SPM element and then invoice the Council.
In addition to this, the contractor will also be expected to liaise with our internal Streetworks Team to manage the process of notices for excavation works.
We will be arranging to sign a Tripartite Agreement with the successful contractor and SPM
