Northumberland County Council has seen a big increase in street lighting energy costs over recent years coupled with the need to reduce spending. This has resulted in the Council looking to appoint a contractor to investigate the various options available to Northumberland CC to help replace all life expired stock and modernise the remaining street lighting stock, by investing in new technologies.
This will achieve the outcomes the Council are looking for:
1. Reduce energy consumption by 50 %;
2. Reduce maintenance costs by 60 %;
3. Mitigate the impending introduction of the Carbon Tax.
The services required will be in 2 stages and will include:
— Stage 1 is an NEC Professional Services Contract Option E,
— Stage 2 is an NEC Engineering and Construction Contract Option C.
