Description
Derbyshire’s Children and Young People’s Trust recognises that young people do not take drugs in isolation from what is happening in the rest of their lives. It recognises that the causes and drivers of drug and alcohol dependence are complex and personal. Thus it argues that the solutions need to be holistic and centred around each individual, with the expectation that a full recovery is possible.
Therefore, we are seeking an organisation that can provide a countywide (excluding Derby City), consistent, high quality and effective specialist service to those young people whose drug or alcohol misuse has already started to cause harm, or who are at risk of becoming dependent, that tackles their substance misuse alongside any wider issues that they face.
The specialist service will be aligned with integrated locality structures and complement the targeted work of the multi-agency teams
The specialist service will also establish and maintain effective mutual support networks in each locality for those affected by a young person’s substance misuse, particularly family members/carers and close friends, to enhance support towards a sustainable recovery.
The focus for all activity with young people needing specialist support will be stopping the misuse of substances and preventing the escalation of use and harm that would otherwise be caused.
An element of the estimated value may be dependent on payment by results, which will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
