Description of the contract

Provision of the total arrangement and supervision of contact between children and their family members where the young person is not able to live with their family. The successful provider shall demonstrate the capability to provide high quality and consistent levels of supervision of such contact arrangements and the full reporting of contact to the relevant social worker/social care team in a timely and appropriate manner in line with the Service Specification and Performance Management requirements.

Central Bedfordshire Council invite applicants from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to provide the following services: Expressions of interest are therefore sought from organisations that meet the following minimum criteria: • Have a proven track record of delivering high quality, outcome based support services to vulnerable young people and their families. • Have a proven track record and experience of delivering comparable projects and services in partnership with Local Authorities, Primary Care Trust and / or the Private Sector. • Have the skills, knowledge and experience to provide the services outlined. This contract has a target commencement date of 1ST April 2014 and shall continue for two years. There will be an option to extend for a further year, and thereafter a subsequent year. Details: Each contact plan should be based on a comprehensive and good quality assessment of individual needs of the child, primarily focused on ensuring their healthy development and including; • the child’s circumstances, • where appropriate for their age, the child’s views • the child’s right to a private life • the circumstances of the child’s family, and • an explicit evaluation of the stress any transport arrangements will place on the child, including the potential for physical injury. The contract for the above will be commence on 1st April 2014 for two years with an option to extend annually over a further two year period. Prospective contractors must be able to demonstrate previous experience of similar work and be prepared to provide references.
