United Utilities delivers water and waste water services to 7 000 000 customers in the North West of England. It maintains in excess of 600 Waste Water Treatment Works and operates 30 key sludge treatment facilities.
United Utilities fleet of tankers and tipper vehicles transport both liquid and raw sludge cake between facilities to ensure that deliveries are made to the appropriate sites for further treatment.
While the majority of work is planned there are significant elements including emergencies on the wastewater network and diversions of sludge to alternative facilities due to process problems.
To ensure the successful delivery of a sludge scheduling system the following elements of support are required for 70 vehicles.
