The Council currently operates a street lighting stock of 18 519 units (not including sign lights or bollard lights which total 3 835), the number of assets is likely to grow significantly in the coming years as The Council adopt lighting installed as part of new developments.

6 844 of the existing streetlights operate in part night mode, meaning that they are turned off between either 10 pm or midnight and 6 am to save energy and reduce costs.

At the time of writing 2 945 of The Councils street lighting assets have already been converted to LED, not as part of a specific project, but due to the policy of only replacing failed, or end of life lanterns with LED alternatives.
