The Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Leeds is seeking tenders for the purchase, installation and commissioning of an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) for Biomedical Research.
The Wellcome Trust has awarded funds to purchase an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) for cross-faculty biomedical research at the University of Leeds with higher scan speed and/or throughput than conventional platforms. This is a 5 year award that will fund an instrument to be used as a multi-user platform and housed with the existing AFM facility within the School of Physics and Astronomy. It will be used on a variety of biomedically related research projects including those within areas such as tissue engineering, therapeutics, ageing, dentistry, antibiotics, drug targets and viral infections. The instrument will be run and maintained with a new technical staff position to maximise data outputs and train users from different disciplines.
A 4-year service contract to support and maintain the equipment is also required.
