The Public Health England (PHE) is seeking to replace four autoclaves which have reached the end of their useful life cycle. The autoclaves are situated at PHE’s laboratories located at Addenbrooke’s Hospital at Cambridge. The new autoclaves will be used to make the infectious waste, including hazard group 3 pathogens safe.
This opportunity covers decommissioning and phased removal of the obsolete units, as well as the design, supply, installation, commissioning and testing of new autoclaves.

II.2.4)Description of the procurement:
The proposals must include but not be limited to provision of:
— Steam heated autoclaves of an equivalent capacity to the obsolete units, capable to thermally decontaminate biologically contaminated waste before release for incineration.,
— All interconnecting pipework,
— Control System for the above items capable of recording decontamination cycle parameters,
— Connection of local services and utilities,
— Appropriate chamber furniture, shelves, trolleys.
