Description of the contract

The principal aim for this project is to develop and deliver a robust backend system for the Antenna future gallery exhibits. This solution should de-couple content delivery from web services, create a fully functioning, validated content management system and cache content onto local machines for delivery. At this moment we do not want to change the website frontend, so any recommendation would need to ensure this remains the same with new and updated content continuing to show (unless we can complete changes within the budget)

Solutions can vary from a complete rebuild of the backend (from CMS to Flash frontend), to a re-working of the CMS so that the system becomes robust but the data structure is not effected. To re-iterate what is critical is:

1. Validation at the CMS level and through the Frontend

2. A more user-friendly CMS

3. Human readable XML

4. A system which fully caches content on local machines with the exhibit viewing it from here

This project has been funded now because it is our intention to tour the exhibition, internationally. For this to happen, we have to ensure the stability of the digital elements.
