Latest release feature films will make up the majority of the requirement, with some TV series, and World Cinema also being a requirement. There may also be occasional need for special interest (e.g. exercise) and Bollywood. The library service in Wiltshire currently spends approximately 55 000 GBP annually on DVD and Blu-Ray realising a revenue of approximately 140 000 GBP from hires, although this revenue is declining. Almost all of the spend is focussed on DVDs. A small number of Blu-Ray discs are purchased, currently for three libraries. Approximately 15 libraries offer DVDs for hire, though at differing levels.
Wiltshire Council intends to purchase the majority of its requirements from any contract awarded as a result of this process but reserves the right to purchase outside the contract from time to time.
