The requirement is for the provision of an Employee Voluntary Benefits Platform to replace the contract for the current provision. The Council is committed to further enhancing employee participation levels and the Platform is seen as a key component to deliver this in practice. There is a desire to use the Platform more strategically and develop ways which can improve and promote the discussion and dialogue between mangers and staff about their wider employment package. This is intended to be innovative and move the delivery of employee benefits to the next level. Categories offered on the current Platform, for example salary sacrifice schemes, financial benefits, health and wellbeing benefits and discounts, are to continue.
The current Platform, Kent Rewards, has been in operation for several years. This is web based (site not owned by the Council but domain name is) and delivers valued, beneficial and relevant employee benefits. The Platform is available to an employee base of approximately 35 000 school, non-school and other individuals, as defined by the Council. Although the Platform currently caters for Council and non-Council individuals, its primary purpose is to provide a service to Council employees. The Council is undergoing a period of transformation and it may be that some service provision may change. Eligibility will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for any new partner or delivery arrangements. It may not be appropriate for employees of partner organisations to access all rewards, benefits and discounts.
