Description of the contract

1.1 The office in Kigali, Rwanda opened in 1999 and there are no records of who installed the HVAC system. 1.2 A plan of the office will be supplied to the winning bidder, however this may not have a design layout of the HVAC system. 1.3 DFID Rwanda do not have staff available to Project Manage (PM) the works, this will form part of the successful companies works and will be overseen by Martin O’Hara of the DFID UK office. 1.4 It would appear there are two separate HVAC systems supported, one for DFID and one for FCO and they operate independently. The DFID system has 9, one central unit that serves the open office, 6 wall mounted and 2 split. The FCO system has 12 split cassette and 7 Split wall mounted A/C units. 1.5 A site visit will need to be undertaken by 30th September 2013 to review the existing system, provide a report on its functionality and recommendations for improvements in order for the system to meet FCO design standards. 1.6 Project needs to be completed by February 2014. 1.7 DFID SEPPS team will be available to provide assistance; advice and facilitation throughout the process.
