Description of the contract

The Jessop Wing maternity unit at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust require 8 mobile telemetry devices to assess fetal well being during labour. The device will need to communicate data via Bluetooth, with a minimum 20m line of sight range, to a small, self-contained charging station that also allows the extracted parameters to be input directly into a GE Healthcare electronic cardiotocograph via the mECG, fECG and TOCO inputs. The product must: • Operate with no belts or transducers attached to the abdomen • Have a single set up with no repositioning of electrodes as the fetus/mother moves allowing maternal mobility and freedom of movement • Have a small rechargeable battery powered device that is easy and light weight for a woman in labour to be able to carry with ease • Evidence of minimal Maternal HR/Fetal HR confusion • Maintain full functionality with increasing BMI and no loss in performance • Use fetal ECG to determine the fetal heart rate (FHR), maternal ECG to determine the maternal heart rate and Uterine EMG to determine the uterine activity • Provide an automatically annotated permanent record that the fetal monitoring is not being delivered via the standard Doppler/TOCO/FSE transducers In addition it would be useful if: • Onsite training could be provided
