Description of the goods or services required

Skills for Justice on behalf of the Police Services in Wales, is seeking a suitable Supplier to design and deliver a train the trainer programme based upon appropriate accredited qualifications to support the delivery of a Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework in Policing.

The tender is part of a larger project where Skills for Justice has secured funding from the Sector Priorities Fund Pilot (SPFP) Programme to work with the four Police Services in Wales to develop and pilot a Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for Wales (SASW) compliant Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework.

Currently the Knowledge, and Competence and Mentoring aspects of the Apprenticeship are being delivered within the individual Police Services by their learning and development staff. The Essential Skills Wales components of the Apprenticeship are currently being delivered by external learning providers.

Once the programme has been completed it is expected that the trainers will be able to deliver and assess internally all of the Level 3 Apprenticeship Framework, in order to maximise sustainability.

The Sector Priorities Fund Pilot (SPFP) programme is a Welsh Government initiative managed by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES).
