The building will take the form of a three storey development with a floor area of approximately 6 500 m² and will contain:
— An 18 bedded paediatric and adolescent inpatient ward containing a mix of open-bed bays and single occupancy rooms with switchable positive and negative airflows;
— A 20 bedded paediatric intensive care unit containing a mix of open-bed bays and single occupancy rooms with switchable positive and negative airflows;
— 2 theatres, one of which will be a hybrid theatre with radiological screening capabilities;
— Future developable space, possibly used for office accommodation.
The estimated construction value of the scheme is approximately 18 400 000 GBP.
