Main site or location of works, place of delivery or of performance: Delivery points throughout Birmingham comprising of schools, social services homes, leisure centres and civic centres under the control of Birmingham Council. The contract will be made available to those local authorities and public bodies based with the West Midlands boundaries.

Section III: Legal, economic, financial and technical information
Description of particular conditions: When executing the contract in the UK the successful tenderer will be required to comply with the recommendations of the code of practice for the elimination of Racial Discrimination and the promotion of equality of opportunity in employment published by the Commission for racial equality. The successful tenderer will be required to participate actively in the service related economic, social and environmental regeneration of the locality of and surrounding the place of delivery for the procurement. Accordingly, tender evaluation and contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social, economic and environmental considerations.

Organisations wishing to apply for the tender documents must notify the City Council of their interest no later than 12:00 hours on Tuesday 24.4.2012. In return organisations will be sent tender documentation which must be completed and returned no later than Tuesday 8.5.2012. Tenderers will be required to supply to the authority evidence showing their economic and financial standing, technical ability including satisfactory policies and documentation for race relations, environment impact and health and safety. When executing the contract in the UK the successful tenderer will be required to comply with the recommendations of the “Code of Practice for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and the Promotion of Equality of Opportunity in Employment” published by the Commission for racial equality. Under this contract the contractor will be required to support the contracting authority’s economic and social regeneration objectives. Accordingly contract performance and conditions may relate in particular social and environmental considerations. This tender process will be conducted using BCC’s e-tendering system “in-tend”.
