Suppliers must be able to provide kitchens on a supply only basis for rented stock, although the manufacturer will be required to carry out the design. The kitchens will be fitted by Places for People’s internal and external contractors. Therefore the successful providers must be prepared to supply through the Places for People separate merchant agreement or have their own network of branches. Places for People expect to purchase approximately 1500 kitchens per annum (7500 throughout the duration of the agreement).
For rented properties kitchen manufacturers will be required to survey each kitchen and provide the details to Places for People’s internal or external contractors for approval before manufacture. A significant proportion of the requirement is to be purchased by external major works contractors on behalf of Places for People and in those instances payments will be made direct by the contractor at agreed Places for People tendered rates.
For new build properties manufacturers would be required to design, supply and install.
The framework is expected to start in November so it is in place ready for planned replacement programmes the following financial year (commenicny April 2014). The framework can be utilised immediately but the quantities are expected to be realised from the start of the next financial year.
