— The programme will need to incorporate a blend of experiential learning, action learning sets and project work alongside an inclusive approach to skills and knowledge development which actively involves stakeholders (patients and the public) as well as drawing on collaborative leadership models with other organisations and sectors.
— In a rapidly changing and financially challenging NHS environment, it is more important than ever to ensure those demonstrating key competencies are equipped with additional skills to allow them to realise their potential within the NHS, and become future leaders of the organisation.
— To provide an NHS more responsive to the needs of patients, it is essential we work to increase senior representation of minority staff, such as BME, LGBT, disabled and indeed clinicians.
