Magnox retains the option to extend this contract should additional supplies be required by up to an additional 12 months and should other sites in the NDA estate (e.g. other Magnox sites, Sellafield, Dounreau) have requirements for similar containers which materialise within the lifetime of this contract agreement, these sites have the option to contract for these reqiremenets under this agreement.

The Trawsfynydd Decommissioning Site is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to provide a orecast quantity of circa 102 3m cubed stainless steel boxes and 11 3m cubed stainless steel drums.
The 3M3 box comprises a fabricated body, top and base (incorporating four integral feet), a bolted lid with integral filtered vent and lifting features for use during handling and storage operations. It is used to for packaging bulk Intermediate Level Waste (ILW). It is of stainless steel construction (316L), approx. 1.7m x 1.7m x 1.2m high. The plate thickness is 6mm and the overall weight of the box is approximately 820kg.
The total number of boxes required is predicted to be 102 units. A production rate of 3 units per week is envisaged, delivery to site to start in July to November 2013.
The 3M3 drum comprises a cylindrical body with conical top, dished base, bolted lid with integral filtered vent, internal paddle, four feet and lifting features for use during handling and storage operations. The side walls include 3 no. rolling hoops. The drum is used to for packaging Intermediate Level wet wastes using an in-drum ‘lost paddle’ mixing method. It is of stainless steel construction (316L), approx. 1.7m in diameter x 1.2m high. The plate thickness of the wall is 3mm and the top and base items is approximately 4mm. The overall weight of the drum is approximately 500kg.
The total number of drums required is predicted to be 11 units. A production rate of 1 unit per week is envisaged, delivery to site to start in September to November 2013.
