II.2.4)Description of the procurement:
The Department of Health and Social Care intend to run a procurement exercise to source pharmaceutical products for a UK stockpile of medicines for Covid-19 preparedness. The stockpile will cover ICU medicines, antibiotics and end of life care. The intention is for the tender exercise to commence on the 23rd of July and a contract notice will be published in the OJEU. The intended UK stockpile tender exercise will be performed through the online application, Atamis Procurement Software. Suppliers are encouraged, if they have not done so already, to register as quickly as possible with Atamis to ensure access to the tender documentation and the instructions for completion upon OJEU publication. The UK tender is intended to be an open accelerated procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended). The contract period is proposed for 12 months with the option to extend annually for 2 further years. The UK tender is a ‘stockpile tender’ where it is proposed, 46 products in 53 presentations will be tendered as 46 lots and to be purchased by Public Health England on behalf of DHSC. Key considerations for award may be, in no particular order: shelf life, availability, price, UK MA held.
