Supply of Virtualisation and Storage Software

The University has approved a significant change in strategic transformation under a Digital Campus programme. Essential to this is a robust IT infrastructure including a storage environment, virtualization platform and a comprehensive backup environment. The University envisages moving from traditional on premises IT to a hybrid delivery model.
The most immediate requirement is the replacement of the storage platform, virtualisation layer and the backup environment. In addition, there is an essential need to document a forward looking technical architecture for the storage and virtualization environment.

It is envisaged that this Contract will be let for a period of 5 years (with an option to extend for up to a further 12 months subject to satisfactory performance and agreement by both parties).

The Contract is expected to commence on 19th November 2015.

The Qualification section will be assessed on a pass/fail basis in accordance with the standard qualification questions implemented by the Crown Commercial Services (CCS)/Cabinet Office.

The requirements here include:

•The successful Supplier must have a minimum of £5m Public Liability Insurance

•The successful Supplier must have a minimum of £10m Employers Indemnity Insurance

•The Tenderer must have a minimum annual turnover of £2m a debt:equity ratio of <2

Additional Qualification elements are as follows:

•The supplier must confirm the solution includes 5-years support and warranty detailed into the following subsections as a minimum: Storage, Virtualization and Backup.
