Main site or location of works, place of delivery or of performance: Various sites across Great Britain.
The anticipated contract start date will be 27th August 2012, with the first consignment of bags to be delivered around the 1st October 2012.
The Contract will initially be awarded for a two-year period, with the option to extend for an additional two years, and a final optional extension for one further year (2+2+1).
The contract is to be completed by 26th August 2017.
There are 7 locations across GB to which the bags will require to be delivered.
No guarantees can be given as to quantities or number of orders raised throughout the contract period. This is dependent on the Forestry Commission still requiring the products.
All bags should be delivered in one annual consignment to the relevant locations and deliveries should take place preferably before the end of October in time for use by the Forestry Commission in November. There may be requests for additional bags, at other times throughout the year, however these will be kept to a minimum.
The bags require to be produced to various sizes and gauge, and it is fundamental that the correct gauge of film is used as this will keep to a minimum any instances of the bags splitting; many plants that will be contained within the bags will have been treated with chemicals.
The bags require to be printed with warnings as detailed in the tender documentation.
Estimated value excluding VAT: 340 000,00 GBP
Section III: Legal, economic, financial and technical information
Description of particular conditions: It is fundamental that the correct gauge of film is used as this will keep to a minimum any instances of the bags splitting; many plants that will be contained within the bags will have been treated with chemicals. To ensure the specification is met we will require manufacturers statistical data to be produced during manufacture to show gauge and average gauge measurements. Any discrepancies that are uncovered and cannot be solved will be sent to an independent testing house for verification.
