The UK Atomic Energy Authority is a non departmental government body carrying out research into the potential of nuclear fusion as a future source of energy.
Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE) are investigating the feasibility of a project which may require the supply of the following items of scientific equipment:
1) Focused Ion Beam (FIB);
2) Nano Indenter;
3) Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).
This PIN has been published to enable market research to commence to asses the reaction of the market to the proposed requirement and review available technologies. The Authority will conduct a dialogue with the marketplace. This may result in a call for competition based on the content of the requirement achieved through the dialogue.
