Description of the contract

Supply and installation of ANPR cameras and variable message signs [VMS] at; Bradford, Halifax, Dewsbury and Leeds Bus Stations and the possible future upkeep and maintenance of these installations. The brief specification for the ANPR is: High resolution over view camera; Automatic number plate recognition camera [ANPR]; Monitored vehicle speeds with time and date recorded on the camera image of the vehicle; Transmission of the recorded data by secure radar to a remote viewing/ control centre; Data gathering for “live” event viewing; All data to be archived for further actions such as, trend analysis, review of speeding events; Variable message signs compatible with the main system. The maintenance element of the tender shall include for testing and calibration of the equipment for a prescribed period (3 to 5 years) to ensure that all stored data is independent and verifiable. Back office support will include assisting Metro in the development and implementation of a formal policy.
