The Council engages temporary employees provided by a suitable contracted agency. This agency is required to:
— Provide a managed service; ascertain the numbers of temporary employees required on a daily basis, and ensure that suitably experienced and skilled individuals are available and engaged at the appropriate time and location.
— Training the temporary employees; include a range of health and safety training appropriate to the role being undertaken and include a site induction.
— Undertake and maintain risk assessment.
— Provide Personal Protective Equipment.
— Transport temporary employees to the employment locations.
The temporary employees required will include: HGV and LGV drivers, refuse and recycling collection loaders, street cleansing and grounds maintenance operatives, mower/tractor drivers, weed spraying/ripping operatives, and general unskilled operatives. Other requirements may occasionally arise. The requirement varies and there is no guaranteed level of work.
