2.2 Description of the goods or services required

The Welsh Fire and Rescue Services’ National Issues Committee is committed to exploring collaboration between the three Welsh Services. Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue Service and North Wales Fire & Rescue Service have expressed an interest in contracting with the successful supplier should they decide to introduce a virtual desktop solution.

There is a requirement to overhaul the existing ICT Infrastructure at the Fire & Rescue Service.

It is anticipated that this structure is replaced with a VDI-based system, including the latest Operating Systems and Server technology. The aim of this tender is to produce a design and implementation document.

The project is designed to cover the ICT Infrastructure of the Fire & Rescue Service admin network, including all client devices, software, server requirements etc. The scope of this tender is to help with the design and commission.
