Leicester City Council wishes to appoint a training provider to provide training as follows:
Event Title: Supported Living
Target Group: Care Management Staff Group
Number of staff to be trained per event: 20
Number and length of events: 2 x 1 day
Dates: Before 1st April 2013
Venue: Leicester City venue
Summary: In October 2011, Leicester City Council’s Social Workers and Care Management Officers moved from working in specialist teams (i.e. Learning disability, Older Peoples Mental Health, Physical Disability), to working in generic, locality based teams. Although some informal transfer of knowledge has taken place within teams, time pressures mean that formal training is also needed.
By the end of the course participants will have a greater understanding of Supported Living. The values, principles and drivers behind Supported Living. Understand what is possible in developing supported living and how it benefits individuals.
Objectives:
By the end of the course participants will have a greater understanding of Supported Living. They will have an understanding of:
• The features of Supported Living.
• The principles and values behind Supported Living.
• The national and local drivers that inform our work practise regarding Supported Living.
• Valuing person centred living.
• The importance of informal support arrangements.
• The possible funding sources of Supported Living.
• What is possible in developing Supported Living
• The challenges faced by organisations and systems in developing Supported Living services.

The Successful provider will be asked to sign up to a
Training Providers Agreement (attached) Please ensure you are able to meet the requirements.
