Funding has been made available by Cambridgeshire County Council to support projects aimed at Raising the Participation Age (RPA) for 16 and 17 olds, including growth in apprenticeship numbers and narrowing achievement gaps. Projects may be aimed at young people from Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11 in school), up to their 18th birthday (up to age 25 for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities), particularly targeting vulnerable groups.
RPA allows young people the ability to choose:
• Full time education, such as school or college;
• An apprenticeship or other work based learning;
• Part time education or training if they are employed, self-employed or volunteering for more than 20 hours a week.
Proposals are sought from organisations in the public, private, voluntary and community and social enterprise sectors. Collaborative or partnership proposals are encouraged.
Contract values for each project will be between £10,000- £74,000.
The funding is for activity that cannot be funded by mainstream Education Funding Agency (EFA) sources.
