Supporting Family Information Service


Description of the goods or services required

The Welsh Ministers on behalf of the Welsh Government (herein after referred to as “the Client”) wishes to invite interested organisations to bid to provide support for the 22 Family Information Services (FIS) in Wales to ensure the service meets the requirements of the Childcare Act 2006 and the standards set out in the Welsh Government’s Guidance “Delivering Quality Information Together” (September 2014 ).

The Client requires the Contractor to

• support the development and sustainability of the FIS across Wales;

• promote quality and consistency of services by promoting and implementation of the Welsh Government’s guidance “Delivering Quality Information for Families Together”;

• extend and broaden the capabilities of the current FIS network through training, promoting and sharing good practice and providing networking opportunities;

• ensure that FIS officers are informed of relevant legislative and other policy and benefit changes;

• ensure the network is informed of policy development by making appropriate links with other Welsh Government programme areas;

• facilitate working and cooperation of the FIS with other organisations, relevant partners and stakeholders; and

• support the FIS to develop links between the Welsh Government’s key family support programmes including Flying Start, Communities First and Families First.

Additional Information


– The first person from your Organisation to use the Platform will be required to register on behalf of the Organisation.

– Registration involves accepting a User Agreement, and providing basic information about your Organisation and about the User performing the Registration.

– Tenders must be uploaded to the BravoSolution portal by 2pm
