Description of the contract
1. Introduction The ISS section of UKSBS Ltd hosts and supplies with agreed SLA’s and policies IT services for the “Department for Business Innovation and Skills” this specifically includes the Research Councils, Technology Strategy Board and Enterprise Performance Management. The chosen software used by ISS is the Symantec Netbackup System which provides an enterprise level heterogeneous backup and recovery suite with cross-platform backup functionality for the large variety of Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems that we support. 2. Scope The renewal contract is an extension of our technical support service agreement for a specified period of 12 months. Renewing this contract will ensure that UKSBS Ltd will have access to the most up-to-date maintenance and support provided by Symantec in accordance with the licensed products that we use as stipulated below. 3. Requirement The maintenance will be supplied with software support for one year and the supplier will provide access to all necessary and required releases of software and fixes. 4. SLA Symantec Basic Support – Telephone support 8am – 6pm, Monday – Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) Symantec Essential Support Telephone support 24 x 7 5. Contract Term The start and expiry data for this contract is the 22nd October 2014 – 21st October 2015. UK SBS currently manages £700m expenditure for its Customers, our growth projections anticipate this will rise to £1bn in 2013/14. Important information From the 2nd April 2014 the Government is introducing its new Government Security Classifications (GSC) classification scheme to replace the current Government Protective Marking Scheme (GPMS). A key aspect of this is the reduction in the number of security classifications used. All potential suppliers should make themselves aware of the changes as it may impact on this Requirement.
