BCUHB is seeking to commission Talking Therapy Services to complement the provision of mental health services being developed in the Health Board across the 6 counties of North Wales.
This Service must be of consistently high quality, the key strategic driver, for which, is the Mental Health Measure for Wales (2010). The Measure focuses on accessible services which are community based and also provides opportunity to ensure greater integration between statutory and third sector services.
The Service will deliver both individual counselling and therapeutic groups in accordance with the NICE Guidance for Commissioning Stepped Care for People with Common Mental Health Disorders.

Reference to the relevant law, regulation or administrative provision: The Service Provider will adhere to the relevant professional standards, for example, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for Good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapists (BABCP) or College of Sexual Relationship Therapists (COSRT) minimum standards and guidelines or equivalent. Counsellors should be qualified to a minimum of Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling, CBT or Psychosexual Counselling. Counsellors should be Accredited with their professional body, or evidence that they are working towards accreditation.
