Description
Wakefield Metropolitan District Council’s Family Services Directorate wishes to invite applications for the delivery of the above services for young people from suitably qualified and experienced organisations. Targeted Impartial Information Advice and Guidance Service This service will provide Impartial Information Advice and Guidance to assist the most vulnerable young people who reside in the Wakefield District to: • enable them to achieve their full potential in every part of their lives • enable them to make appropriate and informed choices about their future pathways, and • enable them to enter and sustain employment, education and training. Youth Contract Service The main aim of the service is to support 16-17 year olds who reside in the Wakefield District who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and at risk of long-term disengagement and to provide support to progress into education, training or employment with training and to sustain this outcome The contract period for provision of: • Targeted Impartial Information Advice and Guidance Service is 3 years from 1 April 2013 with option to extend for up to a further 2 years subject to annual review of performance and available funding • Youth Contract Service Is 1 year from 1 April 2013 with option to extend annually for up to a further 12 months subject to review of performance and available funding. The available budget for: • Targeted Impartial Information Advice and Guidance Service is in the region of: £1,725,000 per annum ie a total contract value in the region of £5,175,000 for 3 years • Youth Contract Service is £477,000 per annum. The funding for the Youth Contract Service is subject to confirmation by the Department of Works and Pensions. The Current Service Providers have indicated that Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (‘TUPE’) will apply. The Council does not provide warranty, with regard to this statement in relation to the commissioned service providers. Prospective applicants are advised to seek their own independent and professional advice on TUPE. The current contract expires on 31 March 2013
