II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

South Ayrshire Council has a requirement for taxi services for a variety of clients, staff and members of the Council. To facilitate this, the Council is looking to establish a framework agreement with one or more contractors to ensure that the requirement is met in full. The requirement will generally be within the whole of the Council geographic area; however there may be some requirements for journeys further afield.

1)Short description

This will usually be for one outward journey in the morning and one return journey in the afternoon of each school day during the period of the contract, unless otherwise specified.

Lot No: 2 Lot title: Transport for babies, children and young adults with complex needs and disabilities

1)Short description

This lot will cover clients with very complex needs and disabilities and will range from very young babies to young adults. The transport will be required for a variety of reasons including, but not limited, to respite in the community, day-care link and hospital care.

The Council requires a high confidence level of the supplier’s ability to manage the needs of the passengers in lot 2; therefore any bids for this lot must provide details of your company’s experience of working with passengers with complex disabilities. This should be done for every driver and escort you propose to use for lot 2 and should include details of any training certificates held.
In addition, there needs to be a consistency of drivers and escorts for this lot and changes should be kept to an absolute minimum.
Lot No: 3 Lot title: School services

1)Short description

This lot will cover the transfer of school children from their usual school to another educational establishment for the purposes of fulfilling the curriculum or any other official journey that may be required. These journeys will be arranged by the head teacher, or representative, at the originating school.
