Short description of the contract or purchase(s)This framework agreement is to provide technical and marketing/commercial due diligence to Scottish Enterprise’s R&D grant funding programme called SMART: SCOTLAND. The framework will also be available for use by other Scottish Enterprise teams to carry out relevant, ad hoc technical due diligence. The additional teams currently include, but are not limited to Scottish Investment Bank (SIB) and the Sustainability team. SMART: SCOTLAND is intended to help SMEs based in Scotland develop products and processes that represent a significant technological advance for the UK or the industry or sector concerned. By offering grant towards the cost of carrying out R&D work, SMART: SCOTLAND will encourage Scotland’s businesses to carry out R&D projects that they would not necessarily undertake without this financial assistance. This will act as an incentive for Scotland’s businesses to develop new products/processes that will help them, and the Scottish economy as a whole, to become more sustainable, productive and competitive. Please see attached tender documentation for further details.
