Newport City Council will grant a contract for an agreed period of time for the supply of managed wireless services within the public buildings specified within the tender documents (62 identified)
The mandatory priorities of the Newport public in-building wireless project are:
— to provide visitors access to free data communications services and, potentially local content and information
— provide network connectivity to the chosen sites with minimum download speeds of 100 Mbps
— migrate the existing public Wi-Fi network to this new managed service
— provide connectivity and services to the buildings listed in tender docs
— as a later phase to extend the service and network to additional public buildings to be agreed.
